Seventeen teams were competing to enter the main draw of the Essex County Boys Soccer Tournament. The First Preliminary Round has now been completed and five teams have been eliminated.

Technology (18) defeated Newark Collegiate (27)
Belleville (22) defeated Cedar Grove (23)
Irvington (19) defeated North 13th St Tech (26)
