The 2014 Essex County Softball Tournament has filled its last two seeds, 15th and 16th, and is ready to compete the First Round. MKA (15th) and North 13th St Tech (16) won their preliminary rounds to gain entrance into the main draw. This round begins play on Thursday with 4pm games, MKA plays Mt St Dominic Academy, the 2nd seed and Newark Academy (13) plays Nutley (4). On Saturday North 13th St travels to top-seeded Livingston for a 2:30 game, Cedar Grove (9) is at Bloomfield (8), 3pm, Verona (12) plays Glen ridge (5) at 4pm, Belleville (14) travels to West Essex (3) with a 3pm start. Also on the schedule is West Orange (11) at Caldwell (6), 2pm and the night-cap will be Montclair (10) at Columbia (7) with the first pitch set for 7pm.
