Competition to crown the 2014 Essex County Boys Tennis Champions begins on Tuesday, April 22 at the Althea Gibson Tennis Center in Branch Brook Park in Newark. There are 16 teams preparing for the 8am start with number 1 seed Millburn to face West Orange (16), Nutley (12) lined up against Seton Hall Prep (5) and Verona (9) to face Columbia (8). At 9:15am Belleville (13) shall play Montclair (4), and 9:30am sets Bloomfield (14) with Livingston (3). Matches scheduled for 10am are Caldwell (11) facing West Essex (6) and Glen Ridge (10) versus Montclair Kimberley Academy (7). Then at 10:30am Cedar Grove (15) will play Newark Academy, seeded 2nd. The Quarterfinals will be played later that day.
On Saturday, April 28, also at the Althea Gibson Tennis Center, the Semifinal and Final Rounds will be competed. On Sunday the individual singles and doubles champions will be crowned.
