Saturday was an exciting day across the county as three Essex County champions were crowned.
In the Boys Volleyball Tournament it was Bloomfield taking the trophy on their home court, defeating Livingston two games to none.
At Doc Goeltz Field in Verona the Montclair Mounties blasted twelve runs in a shortened five inning contest against Seton Hall Prep winning the Greater Newark Tournament by a score of 12-1.
In the evening, at Ivy Hill Park, the second seed, Mt St Dominic Academy, upended the top seed, Cedar Grove in winning the Essex County Softball Tournament by a 3 – 0 score.
