The Essex County Girls Lacrosse is ready to begin. On Tuesday night the seeding meeting of the conference’s head coaches set the tournament bracket.
Twelve teams have entered this year’s tournament with the First Round slated to be played on or by this Saturday, May 15 at the higher seed. The top four seeds West Essex (1), Montclair (2), MKA (3) and Millburn (4) have been given “byes” to the Quarterfinals. That leaves the first action pitting Newark Academy (12) at Glen Ridge (5), Mt St Dominic (11) playing Caldwell (6), Columbia (10) traveling to Verona (7) and Cedar Grove (9) facing Livingston (8).
All rounds this year shall be played at the higher seed with the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 18, Semifinals on Thursday, May 20 and the Championship on Saturday, May 22.
