Retired Star Ledger sportswriter Rick Bliwise invites everyone to join him in honoring the top boys and girls players, coaches and teams of the Essex County Basketball Tournaments. A get-together is planned for Thursday evening, April 28th at the Franklin Steakhouse, 238 Franklin Avenue, Nutley.

Among the boys  honorees are Kelly Tripuka of Bloomfield, Brevin Knight of Seton Hall Prep, Mike Dabney of East Orange and Lonnie Wright of South Side (Shabazz).

Girls honorees include Tammy Hammond of Irvington, Jennifer Apicello of Belliville, Tyiana Sears of Bloomfield and Dana Wynne of Clifford Scott.

Twenty of the counties basketball programs are represented in the honors. Tickets are $25, food is included.
