What a busy weekend it will be for Essex County High School sports! Aside from the Super Essex Conference football schedule five county championships will be won. On Friday afternoon at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield/Montclair it will be the Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships. The meet begins at 2:15pm, there will be five races conducted.

Saturday starts off with the Girls Volleyball Championships at Bloomfield HS, 1pm. It will be Montclair Kimberley Academy (2) attempting to dethrone the reigning champions, Livingston Lancers (1).

In the evening the action moves to Livingston’s stadium for the Soccer Championships. At 5pm it will be the boys up with Livingston (4) and conqueror over top seeded West Orange, facing the 2nd seeded pirates of Seton Hall Prep.

The second game of the soccer doubleheader is the girls championship. Top seeded, and four time defending champion, Montclair will attempt to hold onto its’ crown as the county’s best against Montclair Kimberley Academy, seeded third. Scheduled start time is 7pm.
