The 2016 Essex County Boys, and Girls Basketball Tournaments have the match-ups for their respective semifinals. Saturday’s Quarterfinal Round reduced to tournament field to four teams remaining in each bracket.

First up, on Tuesday at West Orange High School, is the Boys’ Semifinals. At 5pm the fifth seeded West Side Roughriders (18-6) take on top seeded Seton Hall Prep (24-1). The second game, which is slated for tip-off at 7pm will pit the East Orange Jaguars (15-8), seeded sixth, against East Side (19-6), seeded second.

On Wednesday, the Girls Semifinals will be played at Weequahic High School. The first game, scheduled for 5pm, has the Lady Bulldogs of Shabazz (14-7), seeded fourth, facing the top seeded team, East Orange (16-3). The second half of the semifinal, set for a 7pm start, will see Newark Tech’s team (12-10), seeded seventh,  up against the third seeded University Phoenix (17-5).

General admission for these doubleheaders is $8 at the door. Only ECADA issued passes will be accepted.
