The Essex County Girls Volleyball Tournament completed five First Preliminary Round games to begin the tournament’s competitions.
In those contests University defeated Bard Early College, St Benedict’s Prep moved past West Side, Irvington won over Newark Lab, Central eliminated Newark Collegiate Academy and Newark Vocational upset Newark Tech.
The second round is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, October 15, again at the higher seeds site.
