On Monday evening the Seeding Committees for the Essex County Boys, and Girls Soccer Tournaments developed their brackets for this year’s tournaments. Twenty-one teams entered the Girls Tournament thus creating a need for a First Preliminary Round game in the “Play In Rounds”. The Boys Tournament is usually accustomed to a First Preliminary Round and, with twenty-seven teams entered, has five games bracketed. The First Rounds of the main draw are scheduled to be played on or by Wednesday, October 19th.
On the Girls side the top four seeds, Livingston (1), Nutley (2), Montclair (3) and Columbia (4) have “byes” to the Quarterfinal Round.
The top ten boys teams are scheduled to play in the First Round. The seeds are Seton Hall (1), East Side (2), West Orange (3), Montclair (4), Livingston (5), Millburn (6), Montclair Kimberley (7), West Essex (8), Nutley (9) and East Orange(10).
Both tournament Quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd at the higher seed’s site. The Semifinals are set for Wednesday, October 26th, boys at Millburn and girls at Belleville. The championship final will be played at the newly renovated soccer stadium at Montclair State University on Sunday, October 30th.
