Despite a 90 minute delay caused by a torrential downpour Glen Ridge girls lacrosse team maintained momentum and defeated top seeded West Essex, 8-6, in the final round of the Essex County Girls Lacrosse Tournament. Each year the rotation of the doubleheader finals with the boys tournament has the second game starting at about 2:30pm in the afternoon. Yesterday, at Livingston High School this unfortunately coincided with the arrival of thunder, lightening and driving rain just eight minutes into the game. West Essex won the title in 2012 while Glen Ridge was the 2011 champion.
